Last week’s BET Awards Viewers’ Choice Best New International Act nomination announcements have been met with a rush of responses, most excited about Kwesi Arthur’s nomination and other top music dwags up for recognition this year. While some feel there have been oversights, many acts who’ve received a nod in the nominations pool are taking to social media to express their appreciation for the honor of being included in the expansive and impressive list.
ONE of Ghana’s hottest hip hop artists, Kwesi Arthur, says there is more to him possibly winning at this year’s BET awards in Los Angeles.
“The awards, the nomination, it is all grace, but honestly, i don’t know what can compare to this feeling! Mama and Grandma you worked so hard so we could achieve the things they said were impossible! I’m just happy that i can make you proud!” he wrote.
If he win the BET Awards Viewers’ Choice Best New International Act: it would be a first for an African act, in less than 7 months in the entertainment industry, to bag a BET Award.
Nominees in other BET Awards categories include rapper/singer Drake, and record-breaking female singer-songwriter Beyoncé.
The Tema star is up against Southern African act Sjava and Nigerian singer Niniola., who are both doing amazingly well in their country.
The slot for the BET Awards Viewers’ Choice Best New International Act was unveiled last week, and this year’s nominees are celebrating the good news on social media.

The BET Awards were established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television network to celebrate African Americans and other American minorities in music, acting, sports, and other fields of entertainment over the past year.
The awards are presented annually, and are broadcast live on BET. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by artistes, and some of the awards of more popular interest are presented in a televised ceremony.
