It’s going to be lively at Nungua Junction Mall – Ghana Naija Carnival Slated For September 29
Plans have reached advanced stage for the 5th edition of Ghana Naija Carnival in Accra. According to the organisers, the event has been confirmed to hold September 29.
Announcing this at a media briefing at Spintex, the chief executive officer of Smile Entertainment Limited, Samuel Darlington widely known as Smile Baba, stated that the Carnival is targeted at entrenching Ghana Naija Carnival as a gateway to both countries, and listing it as a peace and love carnival between Ghana and Nigeria.
The street is set and ready to host Nungua Junction Mall for the first time, hundreds of traditional and urban performers will be flying from Nigeria and the regions of Ghana specially for the occasion.
Stalls selling a variety of Ghana Nigeria food and goodies will start lining the streets from September.
“The carnival also aims at unifying the diverse cultural practice for both countries, building love and cordial co-existence between the countries,” he said.
“With the key objectives of fostering peace and unity, creating an ideal opportunity for the continuous development of the countries, boosting its image, creating tourism attraction and culture both locally and internationally and re-creating opportunities and encouraging human development among both countries. The city and its environs would witness a day of transformation,” he added.
Activities lined up for the carnival include unveiling art of Unity, artistes performance and comedy fair, street parade, cultural dance and performance
There will be special musical performance by top Ghanaian and Nigerian artistes with Epixode and Patoranking as main performers, lined up with other notable artists. “The rich cultural heritage of the two countries will be represented, showcasing their highly entertaining dance steps through locally rendered music and rhythmic movements,” the organisers announced.
